I learned design by needing it — not by studying it.
Before I ever opened Figma, I was running two Shopify stores, managing six-figure ad spend on Meta, sourcing products from overseas factories, and answering customer tickets at midnight. I learned what good design was by losing money to bad design.
That operator instinct followed me into tech — through crypto startups, into 3.5 years of enterprise product design at Glacier FarmMedia, and now into Volta, where I build full-stack platforms for niche industries. Booking systems, client portals, marketing automation — the things most designers spec but never ship.
